Obsidian & jeb_

For the 2019 FLL season, we built two robots named Obsidian and jeb_, drawing inspiration from Minecraft for their colour schemes—Obsidian in sleek black and jeb_ with a rainbow design. Our robot featured an innovative ladder mechanism that could move both vertically and horizontally, giving us versatile attachment options. At just 3 kg, it was compact yet powerful. We earned both the Champion’s Award and Robot Performance Award at our regional event, which qualified us for the Northern Nationals. There, we placed 13th on the field and proudly took home the 1st Place Mechanical Design Award, securing us an invitation to APOC. Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, APOC was transformed into a virtual competition limited to Australian teams only.
